On My Radar

A motley mix of things I'm loving and lusting after

On My Radar

Everlane Knot Sandals Heather Day Instagram Katherine Jury Instagram Suite One Studio In With the Old Book Levie Pleated Skirt

A few things I’ve bookmarked as of late that you need to get in on:

Everlane launched these leather sandals and I think the design is so unique. The biggest question: do you like ’em better in grey or black?

Other favorite Instagrammers to follow include artists, because I love seeing finished works as well as studio process photos. I followed Heather Day recently, and then had the surprise pleasure of meeting her at a mutual friend’s birthday party two weeks ago. She’s an abstract painter whose work has so much energy and vibrancy; check out the huge mural she just completed for Dropbox in Seattle! I also want to point you to Katherine Jury, who makes bright, colorful works typically focused within single color families. Her original works and prints are available for sale here; I personally loved the series of black and white prints she did.

A different kind of art: I bookmarked ceramicist Lindsay Emery’s shop, Suite One Studio, a while back. Her tableware is beautiful and new pieces get released every Tuesday.

In my never ending quest to amass more design books than I know what to do with, I stumbled across this one while browsing around Amazon the other day. I’d heard of Jennifer Boles’ blog The Peak of Chic before, but didn’t know she had a book! In with the Old covers the history of many classic design elements and furniture pieces, while also making suggestions for how to incorporate them in a modern setting. Count me in.

Ever since I bought two of these dresses from Club Monaco (and have gotten stopped twice to be asked where they were from, and once to get hit on by a random dude while I was waiting for an Uber), I’ve been keeping a closer eye on the store’s offerings. I feel like some of their pieces really fly under the radar! It’s one of those places you have to try things on, and then it’s dangerous because you realize you want everything. This skirt, though, is an add-to-cart-immediately type piece — I’m digging the ladylike pleats with the modern pattern.
