Looking at photos from the disposable cameras we took to Cabo was like taking a trip back to 1998. I love my DSLR, but there’s something to be said for the fun of using a disposable camera then eagerly awaiting what you get back. In the digital age, these photos have such a distinct vintage quality to them. And then, when I think about the fact that an item that seemed normal to me 10 years ago now gives off a ‘vintage’ vibe, I want to laugh a little.
Deets in case anyone is interested: Mis amigos and I stayed at the Casa Dorada, which I’ve stayed at twice now and I highly recommend. The standard room is an 850 sq ft. junior suite. All rooms have ocean facing balconies. There are hammocks you can swing in and listen to the ocean. The end.
Best place you can possibly park yourself for good eats, prime sand-under-feet action and ocean-front views? Look no further than Tabasco Beach Club. I can’t believe I’m sharing this on the Internet, since it’s supposed to be my secret place that’s yet to be overrun by tourists, but it’s Thursday, and I love ya, so trust me on this. We may or may not have gone three times while we were there.
I know these photos are more artsy-fartsy than fun pics of me taking tequila shots (you’re so sad, I know), but this is what happens with the disposable camera. Trust me, it’s more interesting to see how film captures the scenery than to see how terrible I look at night with only a tiny, powerless flash to illuminate things.
Either way, who wishes they were on that catamaran right now??
Cute pictures! It’s funny how they look sort of ‘vintage’ because they’re on a real camera. I love them though, what a fun idea!
total vintage vibe, i cant believe that! and ahhh i love cabo. so fun!
Haha. So scary to think that disposable cameras are kinda vintagey. Gorgeous pictures!! And yes, I’m wishing I were on a catamaran right now ;)
I totally agree with the “vintage vibe” of the pictures. They’re fun! Who need photoshop and editing software knowledge as well as several hours editing photos if you can have pictures like these? Now you’ve given me idea on how to get the perfect vintage effect even with my skills (or lack thereof) in photoshopping.
The beaches are nice by the way. And I would love to be on that catamaran any day. :)
