I’m Loving…

Happy Tuesday! Just wanted to pop in and share a few things I’ve recently treated myself to — from late night binge watching, to fun new beauty products.

Work has been intense the last week or two, but in a good way — there are so many interesting challenges to meet with my current client projects! I’ve been using up a lot of creative energy there, so if posting seems kind of light over the next week or so, that’s why (though who knows; I feel like every time I say that, I get a burst of creative energy from somewhere and end up posting more). My usual cure for sparking creativity is to go for a walk or do something outside, but with the recent spate of freezing cold weather (and it’s snowing here today. Again.), walks in the park have not really been on the agenda. What do you do to re-spark creativity?

So as for these picks, every single one of these things are items I’ve recently purchased and are currently providing little bits of joy in my daily life. I’m especially glad to have tried Bite Beauty, which is a totally natural beauty brand that uses food-grade quality ingredients — you could literally eat their products. And, after not being able to stop thinking about it since mid-December, I finally popped into a Williams-Sonoma and purchased one of these French presses, in white. It feels both French country and modern to me at the same time, and I’m pretty obsessed with it!

Hope your week is off to a great start!

I’m OBSESSED with Bite! The agave lip masks in colors (I have them in smashed and champagne) are equally great, with the perfect hint of color. I just splurged on a few of their cashmere lip creams, will let you know how they are. Looks like I’ll need to invest in that Urban Decay palette as well – I have the Naked Basics one, but love the colors in this version as well!

Hitha – you’re going to love the Cashmere Lip Creams… I have Sherry and it’s my fave! I wore it at my launch party and it stayed on all night.

I loveeee Naked Basics!! I would never use all of the colors in the big one, and I like that these are more matte than shimmery. The best!

BITE FTW!!!! The best. I never thought I’d find a natural brand I loved as much as NARS but they are amazing. Have you tried Beauty Counter yet? I love them, too. xo

My parents recently started using a French Press and now they won’t leave home without it. I love this one and put it on my gift idea list for them. Thanks for sharing!

I have a glass French press—but this is pretty gorgeous! Pretty sure I have a gift card to WS lying around somewhere, so I’ll have to check it out ;) also, cannot get enough of Bite—I have three or four of their lipsticks and a few of their lip pencils, they’re all great and have become my go-to’s :)

Luckily they don’t have the French press in Caribbean blue or I might make another impulse purchase!

“Ya ken?” – haha. I’m reading the first book right now (listening to it, actually), and there is a lot of “kenning,” for sure :). I watched a few episodes of the show too, good to know that it’s available on iTunes. I’m enjoying the book a lot, though it is verrrry long!

I’ve been eyeing Bite Beauty. Their colors are so lovely and they are definitely more accessible than some cleaner options I’m fond of.

What brand of tea do you drink? Randy drinks sweet tea daily and is just now getting into drinking hot tea. Which are your favorite teas to use in your French Press?

It really depends on the day! For the press, I always use loose leaf tea. You can find a number of good loose leaf brands; just make sure you buy it from a reputable store or seller. If you were really in a pinch, you could cut open a pouch of tea, but I’d only recommend that with brands that have large pieces of tea leaves in the pouch…if the tea leaves are too fine or dusty, it’ll just go right through the press’ sieve. Right now I’m working my way through a tin of Grace Tea, called “Flowery Jasmine Before the Rain.” I love jasmine tea!!!
