Life Lately

life lately

Happy Monday! Did everyone have a good holiday? Did you take lots of time off from work? As you can tell, I kind of checked out from Christmas Eve on…we were having too much fun doing absolutely nothing (and also, eating way, way too much). New York ended up having a very mild Christmas (over the weekend we had highs in the mid to high 50s!), and I have to admit, it would have been nice to have colder weather. I know, be careful what I wish for.

It’s been quiet around here as Joe and I count down the hours to the new year, but I wanted to share a little bit about what’s been going on behind the scenes. I really enjoy putting these posts together and thinking of random things to tell you about!

Anyone get anything cool as a gift over the holiday? Any fun stories to share? Y’all, 3ish days until 2015. Make ’em count!

I feel like I ate and ate and ate – but everything was just so good! My favorite gift was an album that my mom put together of photos from my childhood and hers. It was the best gift anyone has ever given to me.

I’m so happy Lucy is doing better! That’s an adorable picture of her. I got a ring light from my parents to film my videos with (it helps make makeup look more like its true color on camera). Hooray!

I absolutely love your comment about simplicity – I have been feeling the exact same way, even down to the detail about the Christmas tree! This is going to sound so Scrooge-y but I took down the ornaments on Christmas Eve of all days, right before we headed out of town to celebrate with family – I knew we wouldn’t get back until late on Sunday and we’d have to put the tree out for bulky trash pick-up bright and early on Monday morning, so I got a head start…but it felt so weird! And, oddly, good?

Anyway, I love this little round-up of yours. Thanks for sharing!

I have been feeling the exact same way regarding simplicity! Like spot on. Maybe it’s because we’re about to move, but I’ve been in this get rid of everything mode. Our house is sort of a disaster with all the boxes and prepping to leave so I am ecstatic to start totally fresh and keep things clean. I also got an iMac for Christmas! No retina display, but boy am I ridiculously excited to use a computer that doesn’t operate at a snails pace. Cheers to simplicity and efficiency! Glad to hear Lucy is doing well and you guys enjoyed the holidays! Love these posts. :)

It seems like simplicity is on everyone’s mind! I totally relate as well. I seem to always have a giveaway / sell pile going and wonder how I acquired all this stuff in the first place. Maybe it is the New Year’s influence? Also, so glad to hear Lucy is on the up & up. My Frenchie puppy and her could literally be twins so I love seeing these updates!

I’m with you on simplicity—I’m moving rooms in my apartment this weekend (getting 2x the space) and actually plan to purge a whole lot more in the process. It’s been hard to do living in a teeny, tiny room (think large coffin size, about 60 sq. feet) because I can’t see everything at once and I did some larger purges I ended up regretting, but now that I’ll have room to see everything I have at one time, I can’t wait to pare down more!

Your design. Always on point. Good luck on the champagne project!

    Bon courage,

I am so envious of you and your new iMac.. I have been eyeing the 27″ 5k Retina display too. As a professional photographer this computer would be above and beyond my wildest dreams. I think I’ll be splurging when I get my tax refund!! Hope you’re enjoying yours every day :-)
