Announcing: Victoria McGinley Studio + Blog

Big news. Huge, even.

I have waited SO long to write that post title, you guys. Today, I’m very excited to share the news that I’ve decided to put both my blog (vmac+cheese) and my design and consulting studio (Vivaleur) under a single name — my own. Get ready for the launch of the new VictoriaMcGinley.com! Here are the details:

I can’t believe it, but today will be my last post here on vmac+cheese (read yesterday’s post if you want the full, mushy backstory. Sob.). In the interest of keeping my sanity and ensuring a clean transition, I’ll be taking next week off from blogging, as we finish up development of the new website. You can expect blogging to resume on August 18.

Similarly, Vivaleur will be transferred over to the new site on August 18th as well. The best part? Everything will be in one place. You can visit victoriamcginley.com to check out all my services, learn about how I work with clients, and view recent projects. Fun!

But what about the blog!, you ask. The blog will be embedded into the site, and you’ll be able to visit victoriamcginley.com/blog to read posts. While I’d encourage you to update any bookmarks you have, the good news is that all old links should redirect to the right place (fingers crossed!), so if you forget to update from vmacandcheese.com or if you click on a link to one of my old posts via Pinterest, you should still end up where you’re supposed to on the new site. I heart technology.

So other than the company and URL and website design, what else is changing? Only a few things. I likely won’t be posting 5 days per week anymore — it’s just rough investing all that creative energy on the blog when a lot of times, my clients need it. My best guess is I’ll move to a 3 day per week posting schedule, sometimes more, sometimes less. My social media accounts will all be updated too; you can keep up to date as those switch over in my Quick Follow Guide down below.

Things that won’t be changing? I’ll still be posting original recipes (and how — wait ’til you see my new Recipe Box feature on the new site!). I’ll still write about things I love, great style finds, real life events and observations, random things that inspire me, and ridiculously fun websites and articles that I find online. I still want to hear from you, and I still want to foster the same wonderful community that’s been here on vmac+cheese — the site will just look a little different, that’s all (but don’t worry, I’ve kept the design easy to read and follow). The heart and voice of this blog won’t change. It’ll still be me, I promise — just with some additional talk about design work and business insights every now and again!

Finally, I wanted to send the most heartfelt thanks to all of you who left such kind comments (or even sent kind thoughts!) on yesterday’s post. They really meant a lot and everyone’s support makes this whole transition a lot easier! The older I get, the more true it becomes that the only permanent thing is impermanence; with that in mind, I’m so excited to start this new chapter in my professional life and to have you along for the ride. Welcome, buckle up, and let’s toast with margaritas. Happy Friday and I’ll see you on the 18th!

Awesome! Congrats on the new site, and I LOVE the new logo. Can’t wait to see the new rollout. I just updated the referral link on my blogroll, also.

It IS hard to maintain a 5-days-per-week content schedule, especially when you’re running your own businesses plural, so I do not blame you one bit for trying to get it all under one umbrella!

Victoria this is so exciting! I’m so happy for you. I knew based on your post yesterday that you’d be doing something that was right for you and this sounds like exactly the change you need. I love that you’re going to still blog because your posts are so influential. But the fact that you’re combining everything is so fantastic because it is all aspects of YOU and why not have that all in one place. I look forward to seeing everything on the 18th. Congrats lady! xo
