Long Week/End

happy fourth of july

+ THE FINAL ROSE TONIGHT: It’s a little embarrassing that I actually watch both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. They’re formulaic to the point of being hilarious, but nevertheless, I was intrigued by this interview with the background music composer for the show. Ever since reading it, all I can focus on is how greatly the music impacts your perception of what’s going on!

+ IT REALLY IS THE HUMIDITY: 3 ways humidity really does effect your brain. These last couple days in NY had humidity to rival Texas, for sure.

+ SO CUTE: I’m crushing hard on this outfit…and it makes me miss San Francisco, too!

+ HELLO, GORGEOUS: Naomi seriously has the best room makeovers. Check out her latest work for a client’s living room here and here. Classic, livable, chic!

+ HIGH STREET SALE: High Street Market has long been one of my favorite sources for found and unique home decor objects. In honor of the holiday, the shop is offering 25% off all vintage goods with the code VINTAGE25. Guaranteed you will find something pretty for your home!

+ VANITY & BEAUTY: I really enjoyed reading this post from Haleigh on vanity and beauty, even though it’s a few months old. Check out her blog, y’all — she’s someone I followed years ago, and recently re-discovered. Really fun to browse around (and, hello, Paris).

+ THOSE SANDALS: I swear, I wasn’t kidding when I said these sandals were amazing. A few of you guys have tried ’em out and begun your own love affair! Just as a heads up, depending on your shoe size, you might be able to snag them on deeper discount at Piperlime with their 4th of July sale (use the code SHOPFAST for an extra 25% off, but it’s only good until 12pm PDT today). More good news: the charcoal ones that I got for my trip are now on sale at Zappos!

+ HELLO, HAPPY HOUR: This week and last at The B Bar, we’ve launched several new shots and cocktails, including an awesome July collaboration with Lisa from Elembee (if you’re a blogger or someone who’s interested in learning WordPress, we’re offering her book Make WP Work at a discounted rate, with one of our cocktails thrown in for free!). Stop by and get your learn on.

Woohoo! Happy Fourth of July! I hope your long weekend is off to a fantastic start if you’re in the U.S. (and if not, hey, it’s Friday!). I know many of you are off enjoying the holiday today, but I still wanted to pop in and share the above links. Fewer this week, as with the truncated week, there was certainly less time for Internet lollygagging. Hope you’re able to peruse these tomorrow as you recover from barbecue and fireworks. In the meantime, wishing you the best long weekend… See you next week, friends!
