Crushing on: Benjamin Vandiver

I shouldn’t even title this one crushing on so much as totally, completely, 100% obsessing over. I recently discovered Benjamin Vandiver’s beautiful interiors work on Domaine and was smitten. His style is at once eclectic, glamorous, homey, and modern.

Believe it or not, Benjamin was previously a piano player for 15 years before launching his own firm in the spring of 2012. Originally based in Nashville (he’s already worked with the likes of Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere), his company is now working in LA and NY, too. Totally a star on the rise.

I’m loving this beautiful black and white room above (so sexy and chic), but when you look at some of his other projects, it’s easy to see he’s not kidding when he says he approaches each client very individually. Check out some other work from his portfolio (you’ll want to pin ’em all):

Collected, eclectic, but still super pulled together.

This living room is everything. I could package this up and put it in my own house and be happy for years. I love how it mixes old and new; feminine and masculine; light and dark. Just lovely!

Do you ever look at spaces online and they remind you of people? This space is totally Meg to me.

Note to self: begin collecting back issues of National Geographic. Also: try not to lament the fact that your parents had a collection double the size of this when you were a kid, and your mother gave or threw them all away circa 2002.

This room is like glamma fabulous and I love it. Bright, cheerful, lots of pops, but still totally sophisticated. What gal wouldn’t be happy lounging in here?

I always love discovering new designers and Mr. Vandiver is no exception. What do you think? Could you move right into these rooms?

He’s style is exactly what I like, glam but not overdone. Just the perfect balance.

Oh my gosh what fabulous spaces. I feel like one way you can tell that a blogger is truly talented is when you see changes between their work based on their clients various styles but all of the designer’s work has an underlying connection.
I love the range of neutrals and natural elements in #1 from his portfolio, but also the layered colors in #3.
What a wonderful find, thanks for sharing!

I was privileged to be in a few classes with Ben pre-Nashville and I have to say Ben was MUCH more than a simple piano player…organ, piano, he was an amazing musician. Glad to see his success in this area as well!
