Week/End

EVERYTHING’S COMING UP ROSÉS: It’s definitely time for some rosé. Love this piece from my former colleague on great rosés for every occasion.

PRETTY, PRETTY JEWELRY: I loved discovering Vrai & Oro via Grace. My statement jewelry collection is well stocked, and recently, I’ve found myself drawn to much simpler, dainty pieces. This couldn’t have come at a better time!

THE UP TALK LOW DOWN: Interesting research on “uptalk”, that vocal intonation many woman make towards the end of sentences. We’re all probably guilty…but what does it mean for us?

NO MORE CHICKEN SCRATCH: Erin shared three simple steps to better handwriting (also, I love these beautiful new rugs she just released in her shop!).

DON’T BURN BRIDGES: No, really. There’s no upside, as Breanna shared here.

CAN I BE THIS CHIC?: I mean, it’s already a given that I love this blog, but browsing through Shini’s outfit archives is so fun and inspiring (I’m obsessing over this). Also, I need to start planning France outfits, like, today.

SALE ALERT!: J.Crew’s having another big sale: 30% off spring sale styles and 50% off final sale items with the code SWEET, good through June 4th! Nordstrom’s also offering up to 40% off spring sale styles, and Gap’s also doing a 40% off select styles sale that ends today!

IS IT WEIRD THAT I WANT TO SEE THIS?: Sleeping Beauty was the second Disney movie I ever saw, so I kind of want to see this one. Just me?

LES QUARTIERS NON DÉCOUVERT: We’re heading to Paris soon, and I’m excited to explore the less touristed areas of town this time. Definitely on the list: all these places in Batignolles. I’m also stoked to check out Plaisance, Montsouris, and Butte aux Cailles with sweet blog reader (and Parisian local) Laurence. À bientôt, Laurence!

ON SUCCESS: In the wake of her passing this week, Joe found this quote by Maya Angelou and we both absolutely loved it: “Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.” Take that one to heart, chickadees.

Weeks after super fun three day weekends are always the strangest. Like, today is Friday but it feels like a Wednesday. I don’t even know where I am and what’s happening, all I know is, it’s the weekend again and I really can’t argue with it. This weekend will be a mix of low key and high brow; I’m heading to the Veuve Clicquot polo match tomorrow with some girlfriends (what fun/interesting people watching THAT will be), and for the rest of the weekend, I fully intend to do absolutely nothing, while wearing pajamas. We’re headed to France next week, so it’s that weird (and exhilarating!) time when you’re anticipating vacay, but also trying to get a bunch of shiz done before hand. Despite being such a short week, I’m still catching up from playing host last weekend — I feel like I need to sleep in multiple days in a row, and also eat really healthfully to give my body the rest it needs! So obviously, packing in lots of work early next week and then stuffing my face with cheese à Paris will do the trick. Actually, sarcasm aside, the latter part probably will do the trick.

Did you have a good week after the holiday? What are you up to as we head into June (OMG)? Let’s hear about it below!

AND IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

Here’s what happened last Week/End

Love all these links. Especially Erin’s easy tips to improve your handwriting, I always my handwriting to look nice and beautiful when addressing envelopes..but I never quite succeed, so I am looking forward to trying out her tips. Also, the Sezane instagram, what a wonderful find. Just started following them!

Sounds like you have the prefect weekend planned, mixed with time with friends and time to relax. Oh my gosh the Veuve Clicquot polo match must be fabulous people watching (one of my favorite activities while in public haha!)

This week was a struggle to get back into the swing of things for sure, but I’ll take that struggle every week if that means a long weekend! I have been trying to use Erin’s tips for better hand writing all week, and I must say they are working! Have a great weekend.
