Get the Look: Floral, Two Ways

I don’t know what it is — the 90s lover in me, or what — but I’ve been secretly crushing on all the floral prints happening right now. Why secretly? Ok, I’ll admit it. I bought the floral bomber jacket from this post and have yet to wear it. I like the way it looks and fits, but I am still working up the courage to walk out of the house rocking that thing. Florals definitely draw attention, and a lot of days, I want to do anything but (side effects of undone hair, et al). Any words of encouragement on that front?

Regardless, the colors and patterns that retailers have schemed up this season are so fun and vibrant, and looking through floral pieces on virtually any clothing website is bound to make you feel cheerful. Here, I imagined two outfits where florals take the focus, but the accessories — while simple — are anything but basic. Also, these outfits make me really ready for summer. I’m sure I’ll eat those words in another two months when it’s 98 and humid, but humor me for now whydontcha.

Floral Pants: Bauble Bar Necklace, $44  |  KAYU Clutch, $180  |  American Vintage Silk Tank, $100 (this one from Everlane is great too!)  |  Zara Pants, $50  |  Sole Society Sandals, $65

Floral Top: Zara Blouse, $50  |  CRAP Sunglasses, $56 (funny name, no?)  |  Michael Kors Satchel, $358  |  Iris & Ink Jeans, $105  |  Madewell Sandals, $60

Wear the jacket out when you feel bold. Do try the other looks out too.

I didn’t think floral would work for me but tried a dress on a whim. It looked surprisingly good.

I love the floral trend for spring but I have yet to buy any new pieces. I have some great items with floral patterns from last spring, like a great top from Madewell. But I want to add a few more into the rotation.
I am not sure that I am quite brave enough to rock floral jeans, but I am really loving that Zara top!

Love these outfits! Glad to hear I’m not the only one who feels that way…I love florals and some certain attention-drawing items, but I hate the attention it draws. I usually wear pretty simple tops and pants but I like colorful or floral patterned bags and shoes. Those floral pants are super cute though! And I bet the floral bomber is awesome, you gotta rock it :)
