The Internet and New York City have two very wonderful things in common: both are ripe for making fantastic discoveries. Joe and I ventured downtown this past Saturday night for a walk and dinner around the West Village. We were walking down Bleecker (always so great for window shopping), when I saw this pair of shoes in a window and was stopped dead in my tracks. The color was so intensely fuschia — lovely! Some punchy orange pumps were also preening in the window, so I had to snap a picture, if only to remember the name of the brand. Turns out they are Kurt Geiger — a brand I wasn’t really familiar with, but luckily sells beyond their Bleecker Street store (Nordstrom!). Kurt Geiger has a huge offering of beautiful, chic shoes that are on trend just enough…but not so much that you won’t be able to wear them season after season. Some of the kicks are pricey, but it would appear that when they go on sale, they go on sale (evidence here and here).
Second, I spied this pin over the weekend and was equally as intrigued. Who is this Martin Grant you speak of, pin? I googled and was treated to one showstopping fall/winter lookbook. Listen, I realize we all want spring to get here, and don’t slap me for saying this — but these outfits made me kiiiind of excited for next fall. Like just enough where I think I could gear myself up for the prospect of another winter. I mean, with coats like this and a beautiful, holiday inspired dress like this, why not? Although unlike our friend Kurt, methinks Martin Grant is strictly window shopping only. Yowza.
Have you found anything that inspired you lately?
