Week/End

sarah yates - a house in the hills

AIM FOR 10TH GRADE OR LOWER: My friend Maryann sent me this awesome writing and editing app, called Hemingway App. In a nutshell, it makes your writing better. Check it out to get all the deets (it’s hard to explain succinctly!). It’s kind of awesome, especially if you’re writing on the web (ahem, bloggers).

RANDOM LOLS: This week I laughed at this, and definitely this. What can I say? My name is Vincent Mertin, and I’m a sucker for hilarious GIFs and pop culture sensations.

THAT’S JUST PRETTY: I loved this two part interview with lettering artist Maybelle Imasa-Stukuls.

LOVE/HATE: It was really interesting to read through comments on blog features and layouts people are loving and hating.

FRIDAY FLOWERS: Lindsay is so amazingly talented. Wonderful home cook, and floral arranging too? I loved this soft, natural arrangement she put together recently.

CHAMPAGNE PSA: Take note, everyone. One of my random pet peeves (along with the whole macaron/macaroon thing. Two totally separate desserts, y’all!).

THE TOP 10: Spring trends. Nothing groundbreaking on this list, but nevertheless, I’m kind of digging all of them! March 20 can’t get here soon enough.

KITCHEN BEAUTY: I was so intrigued when Grace told me about this little shampooing trick she picked up at her weekly blow dry appointment. I’m totally trying this!

FINALMENTE!: Some fun news this week! We finally booked our summer vacation. We’re headed to Paris (again) for 10 days in June. We’ve rented a little apartment in the 7eme, and this trip, I’m especially looking forward to exploring some of the outer lying arrondisements — for the hidden food gems, yes, but also so that I can practice my French!

You ever have those weeks where things just seem to be working and falling into place? That was this week for me. Recently everyone was talking about how Mercury was in retrograde and I’m wondering if there was some truth to it. Life’s just seemed easier since March rolled around! This week, in addition to booking our apartment in France, two very good friends reached out to plan a visit with us here in New York. I was so excited about planning their stay that I could hardly sleep! I hit the gym several times, powered through a bunch of client projects, had another fun week in French class…life just worked. I hope your week was similar! And if not, some good news: it’s Friday. Enjoy the weekend, everyone!
