Hard to believe a week in December is already gone! Are you recovering from Thanksgiving okay? I won’t lie, I probably need to take it easy for the next few weeks until Christmas…especially since we unabashedly continued to eat leftovers in the early part of this week! This weekend will be pretty relaxed, with a double date tonight, brunch tomorrow, and a much needed Skype catch-up with a West Coast friend on Sunday. The weather in NY has been so weird this week (yesterday the high was over 60!) and I’m sure I’ll regret saying this at some point, but all I want is for it to be cold with a fine layer of snow on the ground. + This is totally random, but this week in French class we started talking about Transatlantic (or “Mid-Atlantic”) accents, and it reminded me of this article from forever ago. Interesting if you’ve ever wondered why 1930s and 1940s accents sound so funny.

+ J.Crew is my fave this time of year…if only because they really keep the deals comin’! They’ve extended their 30% off sale through the weekend on all these items. I’m kind of digging this buffalo check pea coat (so lumberjack chic) and I would love it if these cute playing cards ended up in my stocking (cough cough hint, Joe).

+ Loved these tips for hosting house guests (this will come in handy if you’re playing host in a few weeks)!

+ I’m still recovering from the calorie fest last week, and bookmarked this idea for a simple, seasonal, healthful salad. Yum!

+ Have you seen Catching Fire yet? I thought this background interview on the costume design was so cool! I have yet to see the movie…along with Gravity and about 10 others (oops).
