This week I…

+ spent some good quality time with the fam — we stopped in at the Guggenheim, the 9/11 memorial, and a bunch of great restaurants too. I think I need to start adding my new New York favorites to a list somewhere, like I did for SF!

+ (speaking of which…) discovered this list of the 101 best restaurants in NYC, and now I’m a woman on a mission… New Yorkers, what do you think of this list? Pretty spot on?

+ attended a mini-conference put on by Ladies Home Journal, and met lovely ladies like Jess, Kate, and Jonell in the flesh, and heard from inspiring bloggers like Joy the Baker and Kendi Everyday. It’s always fun to hear other people’s blog stories!

+ enjoyed a power breakfast with Jennifer and Georgie from J&G Design. If you’re in NY, be sure to check out their design services!

+ love, love, love these beautiful geometric planters that Tobe found. I want these for outside and indoors!

+ want to have a grilled cheese party after seeing this post. (Um, YUM!)

+ splurged a little at Anthropologie (in store!) and got this sweater poncho. To say I’m obsessed is an understatement.

+ nodded my head a lot while reading Elizabeth’s post on “refreshing your blogging attitude.”

+ love this new Google ad featuring Saroo Brierly. I read his story last year when it was featured in Vanity Fair (you should definitely read this if you have a second — so heartfelt and powerful!). In a nutshell, he fell asleep on a train when he was 5, separating him from his family. Adopted to an Australian couple as a child, 25 years later, he was able to use Google Maps to re-trace train tracks back to his home village in India, reuniting him with his mother. Don’t read the VF article without a few Kleenex. And PS, I love the Internet.

This weekend will be a busy (but fun) one. Tomorrow we’re hosting our monthly(ish) game night with Hitha and her husband. It’s become somewhat of a tradition! I’m making fajitas for us; Hitha’s bringing the sangria. Sunday I’m headed over to Viviana’s house for a little football watching and a lot of snack eating. Good times! This week was a bit manic, since having family in town put work on the back burner for a bit, so I’m looking forward to re-charging and diving in again head first next week. I hope you are too!

Bon weekend!

I printed out the 101 list when it first came out Victoria – and I have slowly churned my way through over 70 of them! Good luck – it’s a great way to eat your way through the city.

Have fun on your game night!

I’m not a new yorker (wish I was) but that list looks legit. My favorite is still momofuku. I have been watching the mind of a chef on david chang – if you have netflix you should watch it sometime. he is pretty amazing!

I am so interested to read that article in Vanity Fair. What a story.

    Have a great weekend Victoria!

Those planters are so cool! I’ve been adding plants to our home recently so I’m going to put these on my wish list.

And thanks for sharing our Grilled Cheese post. Love your blog Victoria!

Whether my to-do list is miles long and time is running short, or I’m cozied up with a cup of tea and nowhere to go, God gives me peace. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.” John 14:27
