fig and thyme cocktail

This week I…

+ decided I am in desperate need of a vacation. I think a lot of people are feeling similarly. Where should we go?!

+ loved getting my desk organized with goodies courtesy of Poppin. Are you familiar with the company? They make so many wonderful office and desk products, and all at fantastic prices. My desk is very happy!

+ really enjoyed reading the discussion on the “culture of commenting” over on The Well. Meg and I are posting there regularly — be sure to stop by and see what’s going on!

+ finished up a few design projects that will now go into development. I can’t wait to share them with you! It’s been busy times around here.

+ attended a breakfast at Kate White’s home to celebrate the launch of her new book. It was so inspiring to meet the former EIC of a magazine I read all through high school and college — and of course, great to catch up with gals like Jessie, Mackenzie, and Carly.

+ scored this mirror on sale. It’s going to live in our new entryway! Did you know that if you miss an item on sale at West Elm ( and I suspect at Pottery Barn too!), if the price changed less than a week ago, they’ll still honor the sale price? I didn’t…but I found out this week! :)

+ found the answer for what to do with all my old nail polishes that aren’t so fresh anymore. This is such a creative idea!

Tonight is round three of Joe’s and my new mystery date thingy. It’s my turn to plan…and despite his best guesses, he has no idea where I’m taking him. Honestly, this thing has become so fun — I highly recommend you do it with your significant other or friends, too. It’s such a fun way to explore your city!

I can hardly believe it, but next week will be a short week for me, as I’m heading back to SF to attend the wedding of some very good friends of ours. I say I can’t believe it because it seems like just yesterday that they were getting engaged — and that was a year ago! I’ve been helping my friend with all the graphics for her wedding, and am looking forward to seeing it all come to life. Plus, being back in the Bay Area and hitting up our favorites won’t suck either. Maybe that little vacation is closer than I think.

Hope you all have a delightful weekend! Mid-September already…how did that happen?

The great thing about living in NYC is how easy it is to head upstate for a little vacay, especially in the fall! It’s GORGEOUS, and places like Cold Springs are only an hour or so north on the train. There’s cute inns, cute antiquing, and plenty of nature/hiking options!

Hey my dear! Wonderful seeing you (albeit too briefly) at NYFW and of course always love catching up on the blog. Congrats on all your successes.

I feel ya’ on the work running life thing, rather than working to live…but balance is always right around the corner…right?? ;) xx
