This week I…

+ had another action packed week filled with dinners, lunches and meetings. Meg came up from DC and we mapped out the next several months of The B Bar developments. So many cool things coming down the pipeline!

+ was lucky enough to pop in at the West Elm offices in Brooklyn to preview their holiday collection (some insta’s here and here). They have some incredible things for holiday (that don’t feel holiday at all, actually — yay for year round re-purposing!). I already told Joe that the black flatware set is totally happening. Much of the collection drops on 9/30!

+ finally finished reading this book on New York real estate and I can honestly say SO GOOD. If you’re into the zaniness of NY culture, society, and real estate, it really is a must read.

+ bookmarked some summer basics at J.Crew like this silk cami and this cute striped linen top. They’re having a big summer sale right now, with an extra 30% off sale items through this Sunday! (I love end of season sales). Use the code SUMMER30.

+ set up our cable and Internet installation for our new apartment. It’s the little things, you know?

+ discovered this cool new site completely dedicated to sharing DIYs (and with plenty of tutorials to actually teach you how to do some of the skills needed for them, like knitting). While I’m not the craftiest person, it was inspiring to surf around and see what other people have made!

+ want to remind you that Google Reader goes bye-bye in July, in case you haven’t already heard. If you follow vmac+cheese via Google Reader, there are a few other RSS readers you can start using. My pick? The Old Reader. With a name like that, it shouldn’t surprise you that it functions exactly like Google Reader. Tied for second place are Bloglovin’ and Feedly, but meh. Honestly, I’ve been using The Old Reader for a while and love it!

This weekend it’s looking like it’s going to be a bit rainy in NYC, so I’m not sure what we’ll be up to! I still really want to see This is the End (have you seen it? Did you almost pee your pants laughing?), and I also have a few new books on my ‘to download’ list. Really though, I can’t believe that this Sunday is the last day of June — you guys, the year is HALF OVER. Crazy, isn’t it?

I hope you’re enjoying the long summer days, and have plans to say goodbye to June with style!
