Welcome to the outfit I reach for time and time again when I need to look relatively put together, but don’t have time to think about it. Working from home, there are some days when I honestly do not even leave the house, and often find myself in a basic t shirt and yoga pants (or comfy knit pants like these). If I suddenly need to run an errand, I’ll throw on a pair of jeans and my tried-and-true ‘schoolboy’ blazer. Insta-put together! I’ll switch up the look with different flats or jeans (the go to for the summer is of course white), then grab whatever simple jewelry pieces I’m feeling that day — usually just a necklace and one bracelet. Last week, I opted for a neutral low bootie; in my head, it helped me feel a little more downtown as I ran around our temporary neighborhood.
Also, let’s talk about this little bag:
It’s from Sézane, and I love it for when I’m going to be walking and ending up with shopping bags from various stores, because it’s SO lightweight. You can throw it over your shoulder and barely notice it’s there — but surprisingly, given it’s small size, it can fit quite a bit (I’ve shoved flip flops, a scarf, a sunglass case, plus all my normal purse items in there). Since I bought it earlier this spring, Sézane has come out with a mini version too. Although honestly, I’m kind of tempted to get the full size camel one — they’re just such versatile, unique bags!
