Vince Camuto Long Island Villa Maria

Vince Camuto's Long Island Home

Let’s all take a mini mental getaway for a sec and pretend we’re the proud owners (or at least, besties with the proud owners) of this ridiculously stunning Long Island estate. Because this gorgeous villa, which dates back to the late 1910s Jazz Age, is exactly the kind of place I could spend my days and nights. You?

Featured in Architectural Digest, the home is owned by Vince and Louise Camuto, he of the eponymous clothing line (and as I also discovered, the force behind Nine West back in the 1970s, and current owner of the Jessica Simpson fashion label — who knew?). The Camuto’s came across the home when it was put on the market in 2005, after belong to a nunnery for almost 70 years — it had been used as a school, retirement home, and spiritual center. And before that, the home had belonged to Edward Morse, an early 1900s shipping tycoon.

Dubbed Villa Maria by the nuns, the home had fallen into disrepair over the years, and the Camuto’s spent four years re-building and renovating the property. My favorite features? It’s a toss up between the incredible domed sunroom, or the 60 foot living room that used to be a ballroom (how Gatsby is that?). Here are some additional pictures of the home:

I am swooooning over these photos. The images scream East Egg glamour – I swear this house looks just like the Buchanan’s does in my head.

The Camuto’s “main” house is in the town I grew up in – Greenwich, CT. So cool! Love this!
