This week I…
+ hit the streets of New York hard in the search for the perfect apartment (which is clearly an oxymoron). As of publishing this post, nothing signed and sealed yet, but we’ve got some good leads and are keeping our fingers crossed today. Send good vibes our way — we’ll need them!
+ had a fantastic dinner at Tipsy Parson last night with Hitha and Grace. It was so fun to catch up, talk girl stuff, blogging stuff, and everything in between (and also eat some seriously good southern food — it reminded me of my original hometown). Rumor has it that the restaurant serves migas for weekend brunches, so I expect to be back soon!
+ found myself reconsidering my always-long haircut. So many ladies have been going for the long bob as of late (Molly talks about it here), and I have to admit, it’s pretty chic. But I feel like I’d chop off my hair and instantly regret it. Are you loving this look? Anyone gone for it?
+ was pretty jeals of the 10-year anniversary gift that Erika got from her husband. If only we were all so lucky!
+ couldn’t believe it when J.Crew extended their 25% off everything sale for another week. It ends today though (probably for realsies this time!) so shop the sale here with the code SPRINGBEST. The code is good on sale items too, including things like this cool necklace.
We are headed back to SF tomorrow evening (and already got an email that our flight is probably going to be delayed…yikes), and I’m excited to sleep in my own bed, continue making east coast plans, but most of all, see Lucy. Your fur baby really is your baby — you miss ’em when they’re not around!
Hope you all have a great weekend! We should be back to regularly scheduled posts next week. Things just got a little hairy the last few days while we were running around NYC!

I just chopped my locks and I am obsessed! I highly recommend it. I’m still adjusting to how to style it on bad hair days.. but when it’s good, it’s good.
I semi-chopped my hair. I cut it shorter, but not quite to the length of the long bob. I figured that way I wouldn’t have a freak out and could decide whether I wanted to go all the way the next visit. Baby steps!
Good luck on the apt search!
I can totally relate to missing your fur baby! We are leaving on a 10 day trip later this month and I’m dreading leaving our dog!
I quite like the long bob, especially on Olivia.P but I couldn’t do it myself – been waiting far too long for long hair!! I am sure if your hair grows quite quick it would be worth it. I just purchased the John Masters follicle treatment which is supposed to be good at helping your hair grow, maybe that will work if there’s regret. New start, new you maybe? Sending good vibes your way…
I semi-regularly grow my hair out long and then chop it off. One time, I had enough to donate to Locks of Love. I did cry that time (thankfully at home, not in front of everyone at the salon!) But now when I look back at pictures from that time, I think that was pretty much my favorite hair cut ever. It was just a rough transition.
My advice for chopping your hair off during the summer is either to cut it pretty darn short (which it sounds like you’re not considering), or leave enough so you can still pull it off your neck so you can keep cool.
Dinner was so amazing last night – just what I needed! My flight this morning was definitely delayed by an hour – this whole furlough / sequester mess isn’t resolved yet (boo).
And you know I’m all for a good, drastic hair cut. I couldn’t be happier with my new style, or how stupidly fast it is to style. Win!
LOVE the emerald shoes!
That is by birthstone color. MUST get those shoes!

I just chopped my hair just like that — I love it because I can still put it up for working out and those super hot days, but it looks SO MUCH HEALTHIER. My ends were needing a good trim, I just took it up a few more inches and I love how full it looks.
Love those shoes, great color.
aww you’re moving here?! how fun! Hope we can meet in the city soon. Grace has told me the most lovely things about you!
Yes, I saw her last night and we are planning a get together with lots of NYC bloggers soon! I can’t wait to meet you!
my god those shoes! :)

Sending good vibes/prayers/and a little pixie dust (for good measure) your way for the easiest move ever. We just found out we’re moving to another state in 6 weeks (and I’ll be 8 months pregnant), so I totally feel you on the apt thing.
Have a great weekend!

Best of luck with apartment hunting! It’s certainly not easy here in NYC, but I hope you find an amazing place!
After growing my hair out to donate, I realized I truly love it better short (and I think it’s more flattering). Right now, it’s pretty short and I always get compliments. I’m always surprised that people are reluctant to take the plunge. Cutting your hair off is a non-issue in my book. It’s hair. It grows back.
i cut my long hair into a chin-length bob last year and i don’t regret it, but it wasn’t my favourite look. it looked REALLY cute when i curled it, but that was the only cute look, and i didn’t want to curl my hair everyday. it’s been on the re-growth since and i’m loving it longer again.
good luck with finding your perfect nyc apt!

I JUST chopped my hair off this past week into that shoulder length type of bob. I added a few layers in the back for some extra body though. I love it! I plan on growing it right back out, but I like the change. Hair grows! So go ahead and try it. :)
Just wanted to say, your blog is a daily read for me. I so love it! I do have a request: could you please do more outfit posts? You have a really great sense of style! On a different note, I think shorter hair would really suit you! Love from South Africa.
Hopefully I’ll be able to do more outfit posts once we move to NY! Stay tuned… And thank you for the sweet comment!
are you by chance selling these Gucci beauties in this post?
