In Vino (Design) Veritas

How’s this for some gorgeous design inspiration? Today Molly, from A Piece of Toast, is sharing a round up of her favorite wine labels. I’ve never seen any of these in store, but guaranteed that if I did, they’d immediately be added to my shopping cart!

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover…? More like “to judge or NOT to judge a wine by its label.” Am I the only one that when perusing aisles and shelves of vino, often gravitates to the label designs more than anything? I can’t help it… my love of incredible packaging makes it impossible not to appreciate what’s on glass bottles. A winery that cares enough about it’s branding must be serving something good… That’s my thinking at least! From the bold and bright, the simple and straightforward, complex and intricate, or above and beyond cool – I love choosing favorites. So I hope you like my little round-up of label goodness I did in honor of Joe and Victoria’s winery getaway. All were purely picked based on graphic first impression. No, I haven’t tried any of them… But don’t they look good?! Cheers!

I usually choose my wine BY what the label looks like. I would be in trouble if all of these were on a shelf togther.

I totally go to the moscato section of my liquor store and buy the prettiest labelled bottle! =)

And here I thought that I was the only one who cared more about how pretty the bottle looks than the actual taste of the beverage I was purchasing :’) …

These packagings are BEAUT! <3 I would have a hard time choosing between them if they were all stocked up on the same aisle! But that Pink Glasses California bottle looks super awesome! I WANT!

It’s bad but I have a habit of this too and I don’t even really drink! Infact my boyfriend bought me a bottle of Marilyn Monroe red wine once (it has a photo of her on the front) and I have had it for years but I don’t want to even open it!!

I agree! I love pretty design on wine labels too and figure if the winery went through all that trouble to make a beautiful label then surely it must taste delicious! XO

Guilty! I totally shop by the label; if there’s even a drop of pink in the design, my eyes zoom in on it.
