Fave New Beauty Finds

6 beauty products reviewed | via vmac+cheese

Happy Monday! This weekend was totally what I needed. There’s so much happening around here (you guys will be in the know about what this post referred to really soon, and trust me, it’s CRAY), but versus going into control-everything-mode, I tried to take it easy, let things ride, and just relax for once. I think it might have worked! But I digress…

As promised, I finally wanted to tell you about a few of the beauty products I’ve mentioned lately and how I’m liking them! It always feels like around this time of year I switch up a lot of items in my routine — maybe it’s a pre-summer ritual? Or as the weather starts to change, my hair and skin need different things? Anyway, here are six products I’ve been using recently (as always, you can click on any one to learn more):

Going to try out that primer for sure. I always feel like any makeup I apply in the morning is GONE by the afternoon (sighh oily skin). Maybe this will be the one that keeps everything in place!

I’ve always wanted to try Kerestase but was afraid of spending all that money to be disappointed. Might be time to go for it!

I love Origins but haven’t tried this moisterizer. I’ll also be looking for the organic conditioner at Whole Foods to combat my dry hair. Is the Kerastase similar to the Moracan oil? Thanks for reviews.

I have a similar brush (not a Clarisonic either, but one I got through work) that I love. I’m learning to find the balance with it–you’re right, too much and it actually CAUSES breakouts!

Thanks for reviewing these items. I love anything with olive oil, so I’m going to give that conditioner a try.

I have sensitive skin and use my clarisonic daily, so it must be much gentler than these other machines.

I’ve always wanted to use that Prox cleansing system! For only $30 I’d give it a try! =)

I’ll have to try that primer! I’ve been looking for a Korres product to try – I’ve just read such good reviews on all their products!

Thanks for the list! One of my favorite beauty items is my Clarisonic — I finally caved and spent the cash on it and discovered it was well worth it!

i had the same experience with the Acure dry shampoo, which is a bummer since I love virtually everything else they make! I’ve had good luck with Lulu’s Dry Powder instead :)

I am SO happy you enjoyed the Korres primer. It’s such a lifesaver – it makes foundation almost unnecessary some days!

Love the Olay cleansing system, just as good as Clarisonic but much less expensive.

I have the same olay prox and actually love it. i use it 2-3x a week and love how my skin feels after using!

how unfortunate that it makes you break out – maybe you used it too often?

I noticed the Olay brush did that to me at first too, but it slowly got better. I heard the Clarisonic can do that too because it’s really cleaning you out.

I have yet to find a dry shampoo that meets my standards. Even the ones that work well leave me in a smelly cloud.

Ok you’ve pushed me on the korres, it’s on my beauty list!

I have the olay brush. I really like it if I use it 1-2x a week. But I’m in the same boat as you: every day my skin would hurt!

My hair is very fine, so I’m not sure how well this will translate, but my dry shampoo trick is to put it in my hair BEFORE it’s greasy. My day 2 hair isn’t usually bad when I get up, but gets greasy by night. Rather than waiting till I get ready in the evening, I use it in the morning and it seems to work. Also gives my fine hair some desperately needed texture.
