I absolutely love the new apartment Joe and I moved into over the summer, but we’re in sort of a tough spot with it. The problem is, we think we might move again next summer (this time, to a more permanent abode), but we’re not 100% sure. In any case, it does prevent us from putting down deep roots in our current digs. We haven’t painted any walls, or really purchased any new furniture — after all, if we’re going to move again in a year, what’s the point?  (I realize this is the very practical side of me coming out…the creative side just wants to throw caution to the wind and redo the place anyway!)

It’s sometimes painful when I end up at places like Serena & Lily, browsing all the home goods and daydreaming about what my someday-house will look like. The company (which is based just a hop, skip and a jump away from me in Sausalito!) always has so many amazing items. I’m obsessing over #10, that side chair, because it reminds of all the cafe chairs you see in Paris. And I especially love all their smaller home decor accessories and linens, which is convenient, since these are things we’ll need in any apartment we live in!

And guess what I found out? Starting today through next Monday, October 22, Serena & Lily is having a site wide sale on everything with the exception of artwork and giftcards. They’re calling it their Friends and Family sale. You’re my friends. Lots of you I basically think of as family. So you should get in on it! Just use the code SHARE20 when you’re checking out to get your discount.

So, what’s on your Serena & Lily wishlist?

{Full disclosure: This is a sponsored post. But for realsies, I need some linens from S&L. Joe will want to kill me when he sees ANOTHER sheet set, but meh}

    I just found out about this sale and cannot wait to purchase a Riviera chair (or two!) You should definitely treat yourself to the throw. We have the very same one and it’s the warmest throw we own!

    I hear you on getting settled in a new place when you might move again. We’re hoping to move to the bottom floor of our apartment building so we can have a back yard….but we’re not sure when that will happen. I’m still contemplating repainting despite that!
    I LOVE the brass bath collection. Usually bath accessories are so cheesy. If only I weren’t trying very hard not to shop right now.

    This list has me drooling. I want it all. It is hard to get settled someplace and then uproot, for sure. But I am sure a throw would work anywhere. xo

    I understand totally about being in a place that you know isn’t permanent but you want so hard to make it yours! I too am counting the days to begin making an actual home! These pieces are great! I love the Serena & Lily rugs!

    I’ve lived in 4 different apartments in the last 4 years, and I’m finally at the point that I don’t really care if I’m in this apartment for 8 months or 8 years, it’s time to start decorating. I’m just trying to be careful about the things I buy so they will still work in my next apartment. I’ve spent the last 4 years letting my practical side win with the “I’m not going to be here long” excuse, and now that I work from home, it HAS to be a place I love being in and feel at home.

    I’m obsessed with those little campaign tables!
    Apartment living is such a struggle when you don’t know how long you’re going to be there — I try to just commit to smaller projects that I know won’t be a huge investment.

    You rock at graphics! I’d probably go with the cross table or the bistro chair but that mirror is pretty killer too!

    Wait, I take that back. The sheet set! In blue!

    so many goodies. I particularly want bedding for my guest room.

    oh and I’m the queen of decorating to the nines in a place I only live in for nine months. Perhaps it’s smart not to buy big furnishings, but I have to think that things you love will find a home in whatever … em Home you are in.

    I struggle with the same thing! I have moved out of my last 3 apartments when the 1 year lease ended. I have to stop myself from buying things to fit my current apartment since the little voice inside me is constantly reminding me how likely it is that I’ll move again soon. I try to buy smaller, inexpensive things that I could part with if I had to when I move. You still need your current place to feel like home though!
