This week I…

+ am going to New York, today, like, probably as you read this! I am so so excited to be in the Big Apple during Fashion Week, and most importantly (believe it or not), for the US Open. On Saturday I’ll be attending the Women’s Final courtesy of American Express and Glam and am so excited I can hardly stand it. I blame Joe for my increasing interest in tennis over the last ten years. He played all through high school and was quite good. Multiple attempts to teach me have failed, but I love to watch it. I’ll be sure to report back next week on what it was like at the match and undoubtedly, on other adventures along the way! (PS — don’t you love the above tennis inspired fashion shoot? So perfect!)

+ guest posted over on A Creative Day, where I shared lots of inside looks into my everyday!

+ had total FOMO. Do you know what FOMO is? Fear of missing out. There were so many great photos, tweets, and posts about people’s experiences at IFB and Lucky FABB that it had me regretting not flying in earlier. Wah wahhhh.

+ am concerned about carpal tunnel. No, seriously. So random, I know, but my wrists and hands have been killing me (chalk it up to the longer than average work days lately!). It got me thinking — ALL of us use computers all the time now…I can’t be alone in this, right? Has anyone found a good remedy to deal with sore/tired joints at the end of a long work day? Apologies for sounding like a total grandma, but you guys always know the best tips.

+ had my first nightmare about the wedding. Dun dun dunnnnn.

LINK OF THE WEEK: There were two interiors posts this week that just wowed me. First, Gab posted on Nicole Hanley Mellon’s apartment (FYI: she lives in the Plaza Hotel); and second, Meg shared a bold, colorful apartment she found on Nuevo Estilo. Both of these felt like something a little different than anything else I’ve seen lately. And I liked it.

I also really liked Sarah’s short and sweet round up post from IFB! Sometimes the inspiring quotes really are the best part.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Thanks for the shout out lovely!! Isn’t her apartment to die for?? I’m so sad we won’t get to catch up in NYC this time but I’m sure that with the Open and FW you’ll be plenty busy!

Oh and, yep, in the same boat re: hands, wrists AND arm, back… I need to invest in a good office chair and lots of pilates/yoga classes because my posture is really shameful…

Love those tennis inspired looks. I even like that sweat band/head band. I was just saying I needed one at the gym today LOL If only I could look that chic…

Dude. Totally have that problem too. I am seriously concerned. I engineer by day (i.e., spreadsheets beyond belief) and blog by night and my hands are taking a serious beating. There are stretches you can do that seem to help. If you come up with any good solutions let me know.

Ok…this is a totally dorky and unfashionable tip for the carpal tunnel…but sleeping in and/or using wrist splints while you’re on the computer (if you work at home and they don’t get in the way too much) always helps me a ton- Target has some that are OTC. Stretching and trying to remember to take breaks helps, too!

have a great time in NY, I’m jealous that you are going to the US Open – post pictures! And I hope you sort out the carpal tunnel ; )

The wrist brace is definitely the best fix. You can try it at night first but if it doesn’t help, daytime it is. Carpal tunnel is caused by entrapment of the median nerve at the wrist, so the brace helps to keep your wrist straight.

I know this is simple and you’re probably already doing this, but just in case you’re not…are your wrists level with the desk/keyboard when you’re typing? If not, get one of those foam pads to put under your arms to even the area out :)

Hello Victoria, I never do without stopping by your blog at some point in the day an I have never been disappointed. I am not a fan of tennis but I am sure that your take on it will bring life to the sport for me.

To show how much I love your site, I passed this award on to you. It is small I know but it shows my appreciation of you and your lovely site. http://barbsiesmusings.blogspot.com/2012/09/laine-blogger-award.html?
