+ became obsessed with J Brand jeans. I decided to try a different brand from the usual, and officially got my first pair (on super sale!). Love love love. So comfy, they fit perfectly, and they look great. Newly devoted fan!
+ finally got my wedding invitations in the mail. I can’t even talk about how stressful this has been, through no fault but my own. I’m so glad they’re out and done! We have about two and a half months to go…crazy times, people, crazy times.
+ am reading The Other Boleyn Girl. What can I say? I’m such a sucker for a dramatic historical fiction novel. I always end up on Wikipedia later, reading about the characters to see what was real and what wasn’t. Just me? #nerdalert
+ am beyond (like, beyond) excited to head up to Lake Tahoe later today. We’re going to a wedding there all weekend, and the fun kicks off tonight with a big barbecue. I haven’t been to Tahoe in a few years, and every time I go, I’m always astounded at how beautiful and peaceful it is. Here’s to having (one too many?) glasses of Champagne and shaking it on the dance floor.
LINK OF THE WEEK: I’m really, really sad that the Olympics are over. They’re just so fun to watch! And I always get really emo seeing people achieve their dreams in such a spectacular way. I’ve had Lauren’s post about being at the opening ceremonies bookmarked, and loved revisiting it this week. It made me feel as excited as the first time I watched them, just a few short weeks ago! Enjoy the behind the scenes look.
Happy weekend, friends!

Wait. I swear you JUST got engaged. How is the big day coming up already!!
Sounds like an awesome weekend ahead. Have fun!
OMG I do the same thing when I read historical fiction! I’ve read a lot of Phillippa Gregory’s book on the Tudor era and they’re all great.
I miss the Olympics really bad, too! I have been watching the reruns on the NBC sports channel all week… Have fun in Tahoe!! Oh- I ordered that ASOS clutch you posted yesterday. Loved it!
I fully endorse your book selection – The Other Boleyn Girl was the book to get me hooked on historical fiction in the first place! The rest of Philippa Gregory’s books are just as excellent. I couldn’t put down Gone Girl all last weekend, and am now making my way through a JFK biography.
I completely missed out on the Olympics this year – how is it that they are barely televised in India? Here’s hoping 2014/16 are better years.
LOVED The Other Boleyn Girl! As much as I love Natalie Portman and Eric Bana, the movie seriously did not do that book justice.
I have a book on Jane Boleyn only b/c I became fascinated with her from The Other Boleyn Girl & The Boleyn Inheritance (which you’ll have to read next!). Glad I’m not the only nerd obsessed!
Ummm, I do that with every book I read (which is a lot)…historical or no. The Other Boleyn Girl threw me into a Tudor obsession and I ordered like 10 more books with the same premise and totally OD’d after 3 of them. Whew! The movie is such a letdown, brace yourself.
Obsessed with the Olympics, I’m having withdrawals and may be self-medicating with Bachelor Pad. Yikes.
And wedding, YAY!!!
If you like the fit of J Brand, you might want to try Citizens of Humanity too…all my jeans are either from J Brand or CoH!!
I also always wikipedia the people in historical fiction after I read it! LOL! Or sometimes after watching a movie I do it too.
And, I LOVE J Brand jeans! Glad you love them too! :) (And I REALLY love their mid-rise. Am I getting old? haha)
Have fun in Tahoe! Haven’t been there in YEARS!
J Brand jeans are my favorite! I also like Hudson jeans–they both have a great fit and are just straightforward, normal jeans!
Have a great weekend! xo

I LOVE historical fiction. I promise you’re not the only one who does that! It’s almost as much fun as reading the book :)
I’ve actually never read the other boleyn girl, thanks for reminding me!
On the historical fiction note…. definitely NOT just you!! I’m embarrassed to admit I have an entire bookshelf of historical fiction… mostly about Henry VIII and Ann Boleyn!! I’ve read all the Philippa Gregory books.
Also, I definitely know how much of a relief it is to get those wedding invites out! We put lots of work in to those, because it sets the ‘mood’. I’m sure it was all worth it!
Have a great weekend!
Have a fantastic weekend – love a fun wedding getaway!
And as for that book, I loved it ( … totally agree with Lisa – the movie did not do the book justice!) I actually studied abroad at Cambridge and became obsessed with King Henry, Anne Boleyn, Queen Elizabeth — so much amazing history. Feel free to pick my brain! #historynerd

Last week I became obsessed with Paige denim. Now I hate all my other jeans! Also, I became SO obsessed with Tudor England after reading The Other Boleyn Girl that I purchased no less than 4 non-fiction books on Henry VIII’s regin and biographies on him/his children/his wives. Subsequent trips to London made all me an insufferable travel buddy at Hampton Court and the Tower. :)
I adore your cute blog- so much fun creativity and inspiration here. I am from Texas so this wheel barrow idea is a must try for the next gathering I have at the ranch =)

The Other Boleyn Girl is one of my very favorite books!! I love the trash and loving reading about the real life people on the internet. I actually read it on my way to London a couple years ago so I loved my visit even more envisioning them all there. I think I might be the bigger nerd! And cannot wait to see your invites. I know they are gorgeous!!! Hope you had fun this weekend!
