High Time for…

One. Library Lane teapot | Two. Jasper Conran Kilim | Three. Old Havana Mug | Four. Loule Mug | Five. Alula Mug | Six. Jasper Conran Kilim | Seven. Marimekko Teapot | Eight. Homegrown Monogram Mug

This will come as a shock to a nation of Starbucks lovers, but I’m not a morning coffee drinker. Never have been, probably never will be (despite Joe’s best efforts to convert me). I’m a tea kinda girl all the way.

When we were in France, tea was always, always served with a pretty ceramic or porcelain pot, a cup, and a saucer. So dignified! It made the act of drinking tea — something that’s already quite relaxing and pleasurable, if you ask me — all the more refined and fun. Since getting back to the states, I’ve been in search of the perfect teapot and cup/saucer set. I recently scored an adorable little elephant tea pot on sale at World Market, but am still hunting for the right cup and saucer that strikes the balance between pretty, whimsical, but functional. Anthro has tons of great options (of course!), but more so on the cup front, less so on the saucer.

Yes, here I am, posting about cups and saucers for tea. Hello, pretense. But with a zany schedule as of late, there’s nothing to take the edge off like a sip of hot tea and the clink of a ladylike cup hitting the saucer. At least, not until I can pour myself a glass of wine in the evening.

I registered for 12 of the Loule mugs from Anthro and really hope to get them. But ooh-wee! I would be happy sticking my little pinkie up beside any of these pretties.

I’m a big coffee drinker but I love tea as well. I actually found adorable teacup and saucer sets at Anthro with hot air balloons on them. And I’ve found saucers at Home Goods of all places!

One of my favorite things is to sit down with a cup of tea in a pretty mug–something about it is just special. The ones you chose are so pretty!

Luckily, I fancy both coffee and tea… The husby and I try to buy tea cups or coffee mugs from cute diners when we travel. It makes for a great, mis-matched collection.

Ahh, morning tea is where it’s at! I love starting my day with green tea, and it’s such a relaxing habit. If I drink coffee it’s going to be iced, and in the afternoon. I love that black and white teapot.

I recently discovered how much I love the ‘art’ of having tea. I brought home a bunch of my grandma’s tea cups and decided to have a tea party a few weeks back – my gf’s loved it! There was also champagne, of course ; )

I love drinking tea (I have it pretty much every day), particularly in the wintertime. It’s just so soothing and pretty much always hits the spot! I can’t get enough of Anthropologie’s mugs- it’s hard not to walk out with a new one every time I go into that store!

I think the Jasper Conran collection is gorgeous, but a splurge. Whatever your choice, make sure you have a saucer. A saucer is dignified and practical. Romanticizes tea time!

I really need to stick to drinking more tea. I tried to bring a nice portable teapot/mug to work, but yet again.. switched to lattes. I am making a tea tomorrow!
