When packing for New York this week, I knew one simple thing: I absolutely, 100% did not want to check a bag. A) I’m only here for about 3 and a half days, and B), this trip was going to be busy. As in, lots of good food, cocktails, cab rides, and the like — at New York prices. I need to save money where I can! $50 in bag check fees? No thanks.
I’m not what one would call a light packer, so I’m extraordinarily thankful I had the perfect tote to pack it all up in. Here’s what I laid out:
A couple of months ago, it would’ve been inconceivable for me to pack all this in a tote bag. But now, armed with my new secret weapon — the Lo & Sons bag — it was a piece of cake. I have been COVETING this bag for months and months and months. It’s magic, the amount of stuff the Overnight & Gym bag (or OG as L&S calls it) can fit. Don’t believe me? Here’s a little video to demonstrate. They have plenty of other bags too, to fit every type of occasion and lifestyle, but for me, the OG is a winner simply because it makes air travel much easier. And, on days when I want to work out of the house but still plan to go to the gym, I don’t have to schlep around both a gym and laptop bag.
After New York, I have five additional trips this summer. It’s gonna be a busy one. I am beyond excited that I have this tote to make all the journeys less stressful. Seriously, check out Lo & Sons. It’s a fantastic family owned company making truly great products!
Full disclosure: Lo & Sons did send me a complimentary OG bag, but you guys, I have been obsessed with this company for ages. And I love, love, love this bag! Game changer. Life changer. Seriously.
Oh, now you and Molls have it. I am lusting after that bag so hard! 5 trips, lady? Fun! Hope you are having a great time and I can’t wait to hear about it. xo
This is amazing! I need one of those bags, ASAP. I travel a lot, they should sponsor me, too :)
I love your carry-on! I spent an entire year researching good carry-ons a while back and it’s definitely something that needs to suit your travel style!
Also, I love this post because I treating packing like an art. I actually find joy in being strategic and efficient when I travel.
That bag looks amazing. I recently bought the big Longchamp bag to use as my “purse” so that I didn’t have to check anything in – the great thing is that it’s light and it’s big, but what isn’t so great is that there is only 1 inner pocket! Will definitely check them out :)
PS – where is your wallet from? Love it!
It’s Ralph Lauren!
:) thanks!
Wow, I’m super impressed by how much of a light packer you are! I just recently converted to only doing a carry on bag but I have the biggest bag that is under the limit and stuff it full!
Trust me, with this and my suitcase…it was tough! I had to leave a few things out when it was all said and done!
This is impressive! I wish my packing looked as organized and put together as yours!
Have so much at the blogger summit in NY!May I ask where the notebook is from? I love fantastic leatherbound books.
xo
It was actually a notebook I got for free at the Altitude Summit. I think it’s similar to a Moleskine though?
have a great trip! I am headed on a Memorial Day getaway this weekend, and should definitely work on practicing my “light packer” skills!
xx
Here&Now
wow – you pack so daintily! so jealous of your skillz
eek that looks like an amazing bag. I totally want one in raspberry! You should see if they’ll give you one for a blog giveaway!
Oh golly! I want that bag! I love it and need it! Are you in NYC for the Ever Swoon launch? I saw your instagram pics last night, super jealous! Have fun and give Tam a hug from me!
Was going to ask you about this bag! It is lovely!
I will give you the full tour of this puppy later! It’s ridiculous!
Well done! I’m not really a light packer either, but when I moved to the East Coast for college and started flying a lot more, I had to learn how to consolidate. I have a London Fog tote that’s a similar size which I love because I can fit so much stuff in it! With that and my carry on, I’m good to go! Hope you’re having fun here in NYC! :)
Thanks so much for the recommendation. I just emailed my mom about getting one for my sister for graduation, her for her birthday (in June) and me for Christmas…if only there was a holiday for me closer…I might not be able to wait that long!
Okay, that’s impressive! I am the worst packer. I have no concept of light-packing.

Well done–hope you had so much fun in NYC–we should meet up next time you’re in town :)
Btw, I have the same makeup bag–love it for its floral pattern and double zip pockets!
I now have to have this bag! Do you have any tips on finding a good carry-on suitcase?
P.S. I’m so happy I found your blog!
Honestly, we like to go to discount places like Marshalls or TJ Maxx for luggage!
They have good brands for like half off!
