This week I:
+ Helped Erin kick off her new series, ‘Details With,’ where I snapped a few quick pics of things around my house that are making me happy. Along with the ‘I Wish I Was Wearing’ post over on A Piece of Toast, I was honored to be guesting on two of my absolute favorites!
+ Had a mini day of beauty yesterday, getting buffed, scrubbed and ready for the weekend. We are shooting our engagement photos in Napa on Saturday. I think the last time Joe and I took nice photos together was….well, who am I kidding? We never take photos of ourselves, so these will be extra special. Let’s all note the 84 degree weather forecast, mmkay?
+ Made dinner at home all 4 nights. Ate sooo many fruits and vegetables and am therefore feeling awesome today. I am secretly hoping we can fall off the wagon tonight with margaritas.
+ Started thinking about finding a mentor. Maybe that sounds cheesy, but I think it could be beneficial. Do any of you have mentors? How did you go about asking that person to serve in that role for you?
LINK OF THE WEEK: Three good (and in some instances hilarious) links to share with you! I quite enjoy them myself.
+ Pugley Pixel shared another great (and super extensive) tutorial on how to create instant film photo frames in Photoshop. So awesome. I want to try this soon!
+ Tiffany from Savor Home posted on a 60 second chocolate cake that looked absolutely mouthwatering. ‘Baking’ in a microwave. Now I’ve seen everything (and I LIKE it).
+ Finally, I’ve been seeing lots of links to #WhatShouldWeCallMe, but hadn’t really spent much time on the site until Taylor posted about it yesterday. Hello, hilarious time suck.
Just in case you were wondering, here are some things you should know about me:
This is me every time I get ready to go to Cabo or the beach, anywhere.
This is me when I drive. The opposite is true when I walk (which is most of the time).
This is me, 75% of the time when I shop.
This is me when I hear Adele on the radio now.
Okay, that’s all….for now.
Happy weekend everyone!

So I think I about fainted when I saw my link! Thank you so much! I hope you have a wonderful time in Napa. Your photos are going to be gorgeous. I am on the hunt for a mentor, too. I have a few people in mind- people who are super smart, supportive and aren’t afraid to tell me like it is. Good luck with your search!
So exciting you are taking your engagement pictures! Hope you will share (at least with me). And in terms of the mentor… I feel like it just falls into place. Id love to find one as well :)
So impressed with your cooking at home this week. I’ve totally fallen off the wagon when it comes to that, and I need to get back in the groove. Thanks for the inspiration. Have a great weekend dear! xo
I’m so making this chocolate cake! What a fabulous idea for a small dinner party! Thanks for the link- I hadn’t seen it yet. Saturday sounds magical. My guy and I skipped our pictures and to this day, I wish we hadn’t. Enjoy those moments in Napa… have a wonderful weekend!
My favorite read this week? Your feature on A Piece of Toast! “Always dress like you’re going to run into your ex” — great advice! Oh and speaking of finding a mentor…I need to get in on the next group gchat session you girls have. xo
YOU ARE TOO SWEET!!! I just got my Coffee Talk post up FINALLY, a little late. thanks for the link lovely :) and got your e-mail, yes and yes, responding soon!!!

I am glad you brought up the question about how to approach a mentor because I have been wondering about that as well. It is definitely a bit intimidating to think about approaching someone you admire to be your mentor. Hope you hear back some good advice! Thank you for another great post.
The first time I discovered Whatshouldwecallme I spent a good two hours on it cracking myself up!! Always puts me in a good mood :)
Have a lovely weekend and good luck with your photo shoot!

So glad that you shared your precious little details on House of Earnest this week! Have a fab weekend, Victoria!
I am both delighted and horrified by this whole “microwave chocolate cake” thing. I sense danger. (delicious danger, but danger nonetheless). Obviously I intend to make this ASAP.
Thanks for the very kind mention, Victoria. I’m happy you enjoyed that tutorial. :)
Hey, I totally enjoyed learning more about you at House of Earnest and A Piece of Toast!
I always love your link lists Victoria!! Love that ‘this was me in college’ bit, too funny. I hope you had a great weekend friend! I sure did, I did NOTHING, and it was amazing :)

I don’t think finding a mentor is cheesy at all. I think it’s a brilliant idea. I think I need to get one. :) When you do finally pull the trigger, I hope you will share your experience. I could sure use tips on how to choose the best one for yourself and how to approach that special someone.
Thank you for sharing all the great links. I always look forward to these each week.
Love this whole post :-) As for getting a mentor…I actually have a few. I think it’s a great idea. I have a few actually and they are all amazing in their own ways. I’d be more than happy to give advice if you need it!
LOVE the blog!
