Meet Viviana, the lovely blogger behind the daily style and fashion blog Fashion Truffles. Besides being gorgeous and having a killer sense of style, Viviana’s got brains too — she’s studying for her CPA, and recently, helped me do a mini audit of my own accounting books to make sure it was all on the up and up (fellow small business owners, I think you just found your girl!). I’m looking forward to meeting her this coming May when I’m in New York. I’m positive she’ll be as warm, friendly, and fun in real life as she is on her blog and over the phone. Take it away, Viviana!
I hate flying, but I love being away. Weird, I know. The hubby and I have plans to visit Napa (and San Fran) and Thailand in the next two years, but the other destinations will need to be visited eventually. I dream of laying on the sand in Punta del Este, Uruguay, planning a safari excursion in South Africa, and exploring every single one of the Greek Islands. Some day…

Kenny and I got married about 5 months ago, but we’re already making big plans. We know we’re young so we’re in no rush, but it’s nice to think of what it will be like when we own our first little home (where we can have big dinner parties) and become a mommy and daddy (wowza!) I also hope to find exactly what I would like to do career-wise. I’m very comfortable at my current desk job, but Accounting for a Financial Services firm is NOT my passion. I’m good at it, I like it, but I don’t love it. More on that in a bit…
(1) Finishing my CPA license. I need to apply myself and get down to it. I didn’t pass by 2 points the last time so I’m SO close!!! Hopefully it’ll all be done and over by December 2012.
(2) Finding my true calling is my second goal. Retail Accounting here I come!
This one goes hand in hand with 1 of my goals to be accomplished in the next 5 years. I want to do what I love and love what I do. I want to be able to combine my love for fashion with my Accounting abilities and what better way to do it than Retail Accounting?! Yes, I dream of being the girl behind the scenes, behind the designer, with calculator in hand, balancing debits and credits (literally). I’m such a nerd! Any ideas on how to get there?
Fashion is clearly my number one passion, but food is right up there with it. Especially chocolate. Dark chocolate to be specific. Dark truffles are the way to this girl’s heart.

My late grandfather, Nano. He was an amazing human being, always full of cheer and positive energy. He taught me to never give up on anything and to dream big no matter what obstacles came my way. I miss him every day.
After graduating from GW (Washington, DC) I went back home (San Juan, Puerto Rico) for 8 months and spent all my free time applying for jobs in NYC and traveling back and forth for interviews. I finally landed my first job in the Big Apple and moved 2 days before the start date. Just me and two enormous suitcases. No apartment, no family. I slept on one of my best friend’s couches for 2 weeks until I found an “affordable” apartment and, in the process, reconnected with Kenny and started dating him! I’ve been here for over 6 years now and couldn’t be happier. I’m so glad I took a leap of faith that got me to where I’m at now – living in the city that never sleeps and married to the love of my life!

On the couch, next to Kenny, watching reruns of NCIS, CSI, SVU or any other cop/detective show. Yes, there’s the dork in me again!
I started blogging fairly recently, really. In August of 2011 I wrote my first post as a way to share my obsession with fashion and anything stylish. In the process I have met so many inspiring, talented, sweet, and ambitious ladies that have taught me so much. From Photoshopping to dreaming big! It’s hard not to fall in love with such an amazing online community!
Had no idea she was an accountant. She is the sweetest! This series is amazing.
Love Viv! I am a CPA, so I know how hard the exam is! Keep your head up Viv! I look forward to meeting both of you in May!
