Whoa. Thank you to every last one of you who emailed and commented on yesterday’s post. I suspected that I wasn’t alone, but I had no idea soooo many of us were in the same boat. This shiz is overwhelming and a pressure cooker. Why can’t we just talk about that? I hope that if you are also planning a wedding and it’s not what you thought it would be, those comments made you feel less alone too. I read every last one of them. A few of them made me tear up. Thank you. I’ll keep you guys posted as this bleeping saga unfolds.

This weekend, my life will hopefully be a little more zen — we’re headed off for a quick weekend getaway! Funnily enough, I’ll be going to a work event with my old job. It’s a big retreat in Monterey, and when I was given the option to work it (all I have to do is help for a few hours this afternoon) in exchange for a full weekend down there (hotel included!) how could I say no? I’ll be working alongside my co-worker turned real life friend and The Bachelor-loving partner in crime. Oh, and Joe and my friend’s boyfriend will be joining us for the weekend too.  It’s really not a bad gig, wouldn’t you agree? We’re hoping for good weather so we can spend Saturday kayaking in the bay, then enjoying beers oceanside.

LINK OF THE WEEK: I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw this round up of projects from architects Ferguson & Shamamian on Kyle’s blog Knight Moves. I mean…have you ever?? Clean, classic, neutral, elegant — right up my alley! I’m basically obsessed with the second photo of that bathroom. Hello, dream space.

Okay, and because I can’t resist, I also have to share this fantastic guide to seeing the Louvre from Lauren. She offered so many great tips, so if any of you are going to be in Paris soon, be sure to bookmark this post! She went to the Louvre one day and Versailles the next. I’m only a little jealous.

Bon weekend! Love you, mean it.

I’ve been married 3 years & do not miss the year of engagement/wedding planning! There are great moments & the day of you’ll forget all the stress, but until then its a mess. Your honesty is a good start, but there were a lot of nights crying over things like a seating chart.

You are not alone at all & try to enjoy the moments you can- wedding dress shopping, bridal showers, etc. The other moments just get through b/c no matter what people tell you you’ll probably be stressed and that’s okay- you are the bride.

Wow, those pictures on Knight Moves are jaw dropping. And yeah, definitely no expense spared!

Le sigh. I WISH I was running off to Paris soon :). I’m so glad all of the comments helped you feel a little better. Life is always a little easier when you know you’re not alone :) Hope you enjoy your weekend!

if it makes you feel better, i have a total aversion to having a wedding at all. it gives me utter anxiety. like, i just can’t and i feel like a terrible person. i have so much anxiety because i know everyone will be so upset with me. ugh. so don’t feel alone or bad!

Just read through your post yesterday. Confession: planning was the worst part. I mean I know we are all SUPPOSED to love it, but it is incredibly stressful and you want everything perfect, but you know that can’t be a reality really…I don’t know I was so tempted to elope. Haha. We didn’t…and we had an excellent time at our wedding. It wasn’t perfect. It just was a big fun party with our family and friends and that’s all that mattered. :)

Have a fantastic and relaxing weekend Victoria! I’m currently of the mindset that I’m not planning a thing until I feel like it – which might be next month and might not be until the summer. And it’s (kind of) working!

Lovely links Victoria! And I in the same boat as The Yuppie Files commented, I don’t miss wedding planning at all! So happy to just be married!!!

I have to say a huge thank you for your kind comment the other day. I am totally a just want to GET THERE ALREADY person too! And its tough when it’s not in your hands :( But everyone’s support means the world to me! Thank you! Sorry I have been so MIA over here with all my schoolwork getting in the way, it’s hard to even post on my blog these days! BIG hugs to you and a happy weekend :)
