Well Done

With the holidays upon us, gift guides abound, and you needn’t look farther than your favorite blogs to get lots of good ideas for friends and family. Today and tomorrow, I want to offer my own ideas for gifts, but with a bit of a twist — I’m going to share some of my favorite ideas for gifts that give back!

This morning, I’m honored to introduce you to WELL DONE, a campaign initiated by Lauren from Aspiring Kennedy, and part of the Charity Water project. Last year, on a whim, she blogged about an unfinished water well, and within a week, the blogging community raised over $1800 to finish the well. Bloggers, being the creative bunch they are, dubbed the initiative “Well Done,” and now it’s back for a second go round! This year, more than thirty bloggers are hoping to help raise $5000 to give to Charity Water, which will continue to fund the production of new drilling rigs that can bring water to literally thousands of people. Here’s a video that explains the project more:

Every dollar counts! I plan on donating some money myself, and some as a gift in family members’ names (they like that kind of stuff!). 100% of the money we donate to WELL DONE is used for drilling equipment. It’s easy to give: just go here and enter all your info. Presto! You’ll instantly feel the holiday cheer — and potentially change a lot of lives.

If you’re interested in joining in on the fun and want to promote the project on your own blog, here are a few buttons you can grab.

So, $5000. By December 31st. Easy as pie. We can so do this thing!

Be sure to stop by tomorrow, as I’ll be sharing two more “gifts that give back” ideas…with a giveaway for one of them!!
