If you read yesterday’s post, you’ll understand what I mean when I say there’s not a non-awkward way to transition back into normal topics, so instead, I’ll just say thank you for your kind comments and emails. It really meant a lot to get that kind of support. And thank you for letting me offload those thoughts on you, as I’m sure you probably weren’t expecting it. If everyone in the world was more like the blogging community I’ve come to know, we’d all be so much better off.
Today, I want to focus on a few exciting things happening with the blog, that are kind of on the complete opposite end of the spectrum when compared to mulling life’s mysteries. First, I’m really excited to report that yesterday I got ‘Freshly Pressed‘ by WordPress!
I’ve been using WordPress for a couple years and have always wondered how those blogs end up on the front page, and of course, if I would ever be one of them. It was such a surprise when my ‘Cocktail Couture’ post from a couple weeks ago got picked!! A big thank you to the great folks at WP for the shout out, and an even bigger welcome to any and all new readers. I’m so glad you found me! I’ll do my best over the next several days to visit as many of your blogs as I can.
Second, site updates. I’ve moved some things around on the sidebars to make it easier to get to particular types of posts. You like? Also, my blog list was getting so out of control (I’m going to be carted away to Blog Readers Anonymous any day now), so I created a separate page that will play host to those links. You can get to this page by clicking on the ‘Read’ button at the top of the blog. New finds (with some favorites occasionally mixed in), will still be featured on the right hand sidebar. Which means if you read the blog via a feed like Google Reader, you should stop by some time and check out these bloggers! I know they’ll love your support.
