Okay. We’re back in business.
So remember back in December when I posted my coffee table book wish list? Well, I splurged over the holidays and ordered a copy of Jane Austen: In Style for myself. This book is broken down into sections that describe all the lifestyle aspects of the Regency period — the fashions, the interiors, the foods, and other customs. It has been so interesting to look through, and it gave me a great idea: a Jane Austen themed series of posts!
Of course, as we all know, things got de-railed a bit last weekend, so based on how my week is shaping up, the series is turning into a one-off post. No matter, no matter. Here’s a roundup of some Jane-inspired items I found on Etsy!
I’m in awe of those gorgeous vintage fashion prints. Over 200 years old, these pieces were manufactured in Jane’s time — who knows, she could’ve even seen them herself! There’s no shortage of Austen-inspired art on Etsy. Mosey on over!
FROM TOP TO BOTTOM, LEFT TO RIGHT: Yardia Prints, 1, 2, 3, 4 || 1922 Northanger Abbey Illustration, from Jane Austen gifts || Mansfield Park ‘Run mad’ poster, from Book Fiend || Letterpress card, from Tag Team Tompkins || 1906 Emma Illustration, from Jane Austen gifts || 1810 hand-colored fashion print, from Derby City Prints || 1802 hand-colored fashion print, from buckleys || Darcy proposal screenprint, from Brookish || Letterpress card, from Pearl Marmalade
I love this post (because I love Jane Austen)! Great etsy finds!!!
P.S. I’m adding you to my blog roll. It needs some serious updating :)
One of my friends is a Jane Austen fan(atic). These look like perfect birthday gifts for her!
