It finally happened. For quite a while now, I’ve been really eager to learn more about the vinification process in a way that goes beyond classroom diagrams.
Today, I got offered a position to work this year’s harvest at a winery here in the city. I’ll be helping with de-stemming, sorting, crushing, and all the other fun steps involved with turning grape juice into wine. I am beyond ecstatic. It’s a great opportunity, and I’m lucky enough that they’re allowing me to work there part time. This will allow me to continue working at my other part time job, and pursue writing assignments. Hallelujah!
Photos and many stories about stained hands and purple teeth sure to come…
