LAST CALL: For some serious steals. This Sunday is the last day for the Nordstrom Anniversary sale; after that, everything goes back to regular price. Have you found any good deals yet?

MOST AWKWARD FINALE EVER?: You know #20 that I mentioned on my 30 in 30 list? Yeah, I indulge in the reality TV part a lot. On the heels of this past Monday’s Bachelorette final, I loved reading this take on what happened between Andi and Nick on stage. And I agree with pretty much all of it. If any of you watched, what’d you think of the finale?

IT’S A HIT!: In more serious TV analysis, if you watch all the popular shows of today, check out this piece on the secret behind cult TV shows. Ironically formulaic, and yet, it totally works.

WHO KNEW: Did you know these celebrities were related? I had no idea on most of these! A light, fun, photo gallery to look through for sure.

GET ‘GRAMMING: Hallie shared 5 amazing tips for taking better Instagram photos (and growing your following, if that’s your thing).

MAKE A LIST: I really enjoyed this short post on “The First Step Toward Getting the Things You Want.” Simple, easy, actionable advice for anyone who feels like they’re stuck in a rut.

A DATABASE OF INTENTIONS: Love Pinterest? Who doesn’t? The Atlantic ran a great interview with Pinterest co-founder Evan Sharp. Tech, social media and design nerds, you’ll enjoy this one.

PHOTOSHOP TUTORIAL: Over on The Well, I shared another simple Photoshop tutorial, for anyone who’s trying to learn!

DIY GARMENT RACK: I love Sarah’s clever and crafty take on a garment rack you can put anywhere in your home. If you haven’t checked out her new site, you should do so — she’s publishing great content!

Birthday weekend! Today’s the big day and to celebrate, I’m heading upstate with a few friends. We’ve rented a house in the country — pretty much my ideal retreat. On our agenda this weekend? Not a whole lot. The guys will be going golfing; the gals, taking a private yoga class at the house. We’ll be grilling, hiking, snacking…and I imagine some cocktails may be involved. I’ve been looking forward to this weekend for a while and am so excited to escape Manhattan for a couple days. It’s rather pathetic, but we actually haven’t been on any weekend trips upstate or out on Long Island since moving here! Talk about stir crazy…

A couple random blog housekeeping things. Life got a little busy this week, and since I’m out of town this weekend, August’s park picture might be a few days late. Forgive me? And an even bigger item of note: some of you may have seen on Instagram that I recently had a photo shoot at my apartment. It’s not for a home tour (we’ll see if I ever get around to that), but it IS for something else — something pretty big. I’ll be sharing more next week, and you might also notice a prompt at the top of your screen in the coming days to sign up for announcements on the big news. Stay tuned. I know, so mysterious.

What’s everyone up to this weekend? Anything fun? I’m pretty much in disbelief that it’s August. You know what that means — next thing you know, it’s Labor Day, then Halloween, and then hello holidays. Cray. Zee. Enjoy your weekend, friends!

FROM ABSOLUT TO ZAGAT: I was oddly mesmerized by this YouTube video someone actually put together of every brand ever mentioned in the Sex and the City series. Any guesses on which brand is mentioned the most?

LOVE PEOPLE, NOT PLEASURE: I really enjoyed this editorial in the New York Times. The title pretty much sums it up! A great read for a quiet moment this weekend. (Thanks for tweeting about this piece, Clara).

DREAMING OF SAAB: There’s no fashion show images that I love looking at more than Elie Saab. Period, end of story. The man knows how to design a dress, y’all. As always, the latest collection is filled with dreamy, glamorous, other worldly gowns that I’ll wear in my wildest dreams…

BEDROOM BEAUTY: I was blown away by these before and after shots of Jessica Alba’s bedroom. I think it’s gorgeous and really unique!

YOU DID NOT DO THAT: A humorous take on Instagram pics versus what’s happening outside the frame. Sound familiar to anyone?

TWITTER CHAT!: The B Bar is hosting it’s second Twitter chat this Sunday! Check out the topic and see the questions here. I hope to see you there!

THROW AWAY 100 THINGS: Jess did just that recently. I love this as an idea to tackle clutter. Anyone else find that sometimes once they clean up and/or de-clutter, they suddenly become more creative and productive?

BACHELORETTE SURVIVAL KITS: Part of a bachelorette party at some point this summer or fall? Check out Jacquelyn’s adorable DIY survival kits.

A FREE TOTE BAG, Y’ALL: Have you entered the latest Lo & Sons giveaway yet? You have 6 chances to enter! Don’t forget that the giveaway closes Sunday evening.

THE GIFT OF ART: Would you ever gift a piece of art to someone? If you want to, here’s a great guide for a few things to consider (and yes, it can totally turn out well!).

How was everyone’s week? Mine was pretty okay. A rare week in which I didn’t have a too much going on in the evenings, so because of it, I found myself getting in bed early to read, taking a couple hot baths, and just relaxing. Sometimes, you need it (and between you and me, with some crazy things going on behind the scenes over here, I really did need it). I can hardly believe it, you guys, but I’m about to enter the last week in my 20s. Forget where 2014 is going – where did the last decade go? On my 20th birthday, I moved into an off campus house with a bunch of friends, drank margaritas soda on the house’s front porch, and ate an ice cream cake while I waited for a mattress to be delivered. I know what you’re wondering, and yes, my 30th will probably be about the same…inclusive of the mattress part, if done right.

But I digress. I hope everyone has a fab weekend! We’re heading out to Long Island tomorrow for the afternoon to celebrate my nephew’s 3rd birthday. The time, it really does fly. Bon weekend, friends!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY: Nordstrom’s big anniversary sale starts today! It’s not for summer markdowns either — there are great deals to be had on new duds for fall (like this coat, this jacket, and classic boots), or you can stock up on basics too (I’m thinking new jeans and undies). Shop to it.

HYDRANGEA HALLELUJAH: Ever gotten a bunch of hydrangeas home only to have them wilt on you a day later? Erin shares how to prevent it from happening. I can’t wait to try these tips!

A FONT OF THE FUTURE: Yes, there is such a thing, and Google is designing it. Type nerds will love this behind the scenes look at the Roboto font.

BLOGGER REALNESS: I loved this little Q&A recap Hallie wrote for her blog on the heels of speaking at a conference about — what else? — blogging. So. much. truth. A great read for anyone who blogs, or likes to read them.

LIFE WITH PIPER: Joe and I binge watched both seasons of Orange is the New Black in the last week. Definitely obsessed. If you’re a fan of the series, you should absolutely check out this long piece by the real Larry, about what it’s like seeing real life events play out on the small screen.

EVERLANE DOES IT AGAIN: I got an email about a new collab Everlane is doing with Langley Fox, and I’m so into these tank tops. Super basic, but not boring. Let’s stock up!

MASK IT: I wrote a little tutorial on clipping masks over on The B Bar’s blog. Check this out if you’re interested in a fun, simple Photoshop tutorial! Meg also wrote an awesome post on amazing Instagram accounts you should be following, like right this second.

PUPPY 411: Thinking about getting a dog? Read this first. Joy’s tips and experiences during her first year of being a puppy mama are spot on — so many of these things were true for us too!

WRONG SIZE, LADY: How crazy is this : nearly half of women are probably wearing the wrong shoe size. Here’s the definitive guide to finding out your true size.

Oof, what a week. Lots going on at work – and thankfully, I finally managed to finish a big personal project that will debut around these parts towards the end of the summer. It’s been a labor of love, but I’m glad it’s mostly done! What is everyone up to this weekend? While Lucy’s birthday was this past Wednesday, on Saturday I’m hosting a little ‘Ladies Tea’ in her honor (anything to get the band together to drink rosé, amiright?). Other than dog birthday parties (!), I have a long distance Skype date planned, and fully intend on sleeping in as much as possible (there were wayyyy too many late nights this week). Hard to believe that there are only two weekends left in July. Forget my 30th birthday — I feel like fall is right around the corner!

Enjoy the weekend, friends! Hope it’s a good one, whatever you’re up to.
